Management and Execution

We've all had those busy periods, when you look back at your week on a Friday and on the odd occasion you think "sheesh, I didn't achieve that much to warrant such a busy week"...and it led me to the following conclusion, helpfully led by Donald Miller's approach to management (but tweaked a bit)

You can't have effective execution without great management.

The formula for that is the following

  1. Clear communication - clear expectations and priorities
  2. Functioning systems - systems that are repeatable and reliable
  3. Profitability - Is the output profitable vs resource allocation
  4. Value - Are you creating measurable value?

It's often the absence of one that makes everything fall apart.
